IBPS Clerk Educational Qualification

The IBPS Clerk educational qualification demands a candidate must have at least a Bachelor's degree in any field from an accredited university, or any other similar credential recognised as such by the Central Government on or before 01st August 2023. The candidate must have a certificate showing that they passed the prerequisite exam.

The candidate must specify their percentage of graduation marks when registering online and have a current mark-sheet or degree certificate proving their graduation on the day of registration.

Computer Literacy: Candidates must have a certificate/diploma/degree in computer operations/language, or have studied computer/information technology as one of their courses in high school, college, or other institution. Operational and working knowledge of computer systems is also required.

It is ideal for applicants to be fluent in the official language of the state or UT where the position is located (candidates should be able to read, write, and speak the official language of the state or UT).

Nationality / Citizenship

A candidate must be either -

(i) He/She must have citizenship of India, or

(ii) He/She must be a subject of Nepal, or

(iii) He/She must be a subject to Bhutan, or

(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or

(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Penalty for Incorrect Answers: In both the prelims and mains exams, there is a penalty for incorrectly marked answers. 1/4th of the total mark for an objective question will be deducted for each incorrect response. There won't be any consequences for leaving a question blank or without a response.
